Cos’è successo alla Sterna Codalunga?
Di solito, quando torna al Polo Nord dopo il suo lungo volo in giro per il mondo, non vede l’ora di raccontare a tutti le mille avventure che ha vissuto; ma quest’anno non sembra affatto dell’umore: forse ha smarrito la meraviglia durante il viaggio di ritorno?
Così comincia una nuova avventura in compagnia di Orso, Leone ed Elefante:
un viaggio a ritroso per trovare la meraviglia perduta di Sterna.
What happened to the Long-tailed Tern?
Usually, when she returns to the North Pole after her long flight around the world, she can’t wait to tell everyone about the many adventures she’s had; but this year she doesn’t seem in the mood at all: perhaps she lost her sense of wonder on the return journey?
So begins a new adventure with Bear, Lion, and Elephant:
a journey back to find the lost wonder of the Tern.
“Questa storia nasce molto tempo fa, quando andavo a studiare a Venezia in treno e ogni mattina venivo abbagliata dalla bellezza dell’alba che incorniciava la città in lontananza. Seduti di fianco a me c’erano dei turisti che guardavano distrattamente dal finestrino. Stranamente, molti di loro non si stupivano di quello spettacolo. Allora mi sono chiesta: quand’è che gli adulti perdono la meraviglia?”

This story began a long time ago, when I used to go to study in Venice by train and every morning I was dazzled by the beauty of the sunrise framing the city in the distance. Sitting next to me were some tourists who were absentmindedly gazing out the window. Strangely, many of them weren’t amazed by that spectacle. So I asked myself: when do adults lose their wonder?

Tra le pagine dell’albo, troviamo trichechi, linci, narvali, buoi muschiati e tanta fauna artica e non solo da imparare a riconoscere. Le illustrazioni di Spreafico sono morbide ed espressive, capaci di strappare un sorriso per lo sguardo annoiato della sterna ma anche di richiamare l’attenzione con tanti dettagli e particolari… di cui meravigliarsi!
Il tema del viaggio inizia fin dai divertenti risguardi, in cui si può seguire il cammino della sterna, accompagnandola nella ricerca di quel bagliore che ritroverà solo alla fine del percorso, quando i suoi occhi saranno finalmente pronti ad accorgersi di quello che le accade intorno.

The pages of the album feature walruses, lynxes, narwhals, musk oxen, and a wealth of Arctic and other wildlife to learn to recognize. Spreafico’s illustrations are soft and expressive, capable of eliciting a smile from the tern’s bored gaze but also captivating with countless details and quirks… to marvel at!
The journey theme begins with the entertaining endpapers, where you can follow the tern’s journey, accompanying it in its search for that glow it will only find at the end of the journey, when her eyes are finally ready to notice what’s happening around her.

Uovonero porta in libreria un albo illustrato delicato e dal tono lieto, firmato dall’amata scrittrice per ragazzi Federica Ortolan e dai pennelli soavi di Anna Spreafico. Una storia sul valore dell’amicizia e sull’importanza di saper ascoltare le proprie emozioni, anche quando non sembrano positive, che ci fa letteralmente fare il giro del mondo alla ricerca di una meraviglia di cui spesso non ci accorgiamo.
